“Downton Abbey” series was one of my all-time favorites, and my heart was broken, when the producers decided to shut it down at the end of 2015. There was something so kind, beautiful and really epic about it, I never wanted it to stop. Not only the story and actors telling it were amazing, but also incredible and somewhat iconic English style and fashion. All of that inspired lots of wedding creatives to design editorials with a classic vintage feel of that “Downton” era.
Today’s real wedding captured by Golden Hour Studios shows the most amazing ways to incorporate the British style of the Edwardian Period into a wedding. To be honest, I’m just thrilled with how it turned out, because these photos immediately transport you to the English countryside. The wedding took place at the unique Lyndhurst Castle built in 1838 around a park-like landscape. Coordinators from Swank Productions with the help of the most talented wedding vendors helped to turn it into a fairytale-like venue for “Downton Abbey” fans – Amelia and her fiancé. There’re lots of classy and elegant elements that helped to pull of that vintage-inspired vibe. The bride came to the ceremony in a magical coach decorated with textural greenery and florals. Then under a rotunda-like altar the lovebirds said their vows to each other and celebration continued at the castle. A retro lace table runner, old books and silverware kettles as alternative flower vases created a tablescape with a vintage flair. Especially beautiful was this elegant wedding cake with flowers between the layers. As for the wedding style of a couple, they both were dressed in truly classy English vintage-inspired attire from head to toe.
