Everyone went to summer camps in the childhood, and at that time we didn’t think that a summer camp can become a place for celebrating of one of the most important events in our lives – a wedding. Tying the knot in a summer camp is rather a cool and creative idea: you’ll combine a rustic, woodland, lake, maybe boho styles and themes in one and get a very laid-back celebration, plus you will get all the advantages of a cool natural landscape around. I’d like to share some ideas that are to inspire you to have such a wedding and to make the choice of décor and other stuff easier.
Wedding Décor
Rock a mix of rustic, woodland and boho styles! Go for simple and cozy table décor: colored glass bottles for vases, wildflowers and some candles; a burlap table runner and wood slices as centerpiece stands. Incorporate feathers, mini oars and some woodland stuff into décor: moss, leaves and branches. Use simple pots, bowls and mugs as if you were all going hiking.
As for the wedding arch and backdrop, go for a wooden one covered with greenery and crochet lace and nature around you will be a cool addition. Use it to the advantage: take various pictures and go to the lake or river in a boat – you’ll get amazing photos.
Organize a bug spray and sunscreen station as it’s an outdoor and woodland wedding, and if it’s a bit chilly, make a hot drink station with thermos and mugs, blankets will be also great. To point to these stations, you can make cool wood burnt signs.
Wedding Food
We all love making s’mores when going on a picnic or hiking, and a camp wedding just screams making ones. Create an s’more station or serve s’mores in jars and s’more wedding cupcakes. Serve drinks in a canoe filled with ice – this simple yet creative idea will save you some money and give your wedding a rustic feel. The wedding cake is up to you but we strongly recommend to hint on the location somehow, for example, make a boat and oars cake topper.
Wedding Favors
Go for simple and cute favors, and the best idea here is personalized mugs. Firestarters, flashlights, blankets and seeds will be also nice ideas that will embrace your wedding location and theme. Get inspired!
