Love Harry Potter? Then you’ll be excited about this wedding! Add a little magic to your day with a creative Harry Potter wedding. Grooms Joe and Jay poured their absolute heart and soul into decorating the rustic setting with the bright house colors and details from the wizarding world, including a Ford Anglia wedding car and individual wands which they DIYed for each and every one of their wedding guests.

With having a Harry Potter wedding comes a beautiful array of bright colors. The forest greens, golden yellows, deep burgundy and navy house colors could be seen in banners, bunting and the wedding party fashion, including Joe and Jay’s very own wedding suits which complement one another beautifully.

Due to the date being in November, they went for an autumnal wildflower theme with the flowers and candles in the barn during the ceremony. However, the bar and dining area were kitted out with Harry Potter in mind, including Hogwarts house banners, bunting, artwork and many objects relating to different classrooms. With the invitation came a dress code, with guests asked to dress in the colors of the house they were sorted into, and we felt this made for a more relaxed affair.

Joe & Jay made each and every one of their 150 weddings guests a unique wand to take home. Starting off with just wooden sticks, they sanded each to a wand shape, used a hot glue gun to create a handle type effect at one end, spray paint each one and then painting finer details over the glue to create a wooden effect in different colors. They also made personalized Harry Potter trunks, Bertie Botts boxes and different decorations for each table as everyone had a specific theme (lesson).
