Have you ever dreamed about getting married in the desert? Or maybe you wanted to wear bright gowns at your big day? So this couple combined these two ideas together and got an incredible wedding! If you like bright colors and unique ideas, then continue to read this article. Bride Davis and groom Chris picked up their venue The Ruin Venue, Pioneertown, California near Joshua Tree National Park in Southern California, cause they had moved from Florida to this place a week prior to get engaged and find it as very magical and gorgeous for their big day. And of course getting married in the desert was an mutual decision.
Chris and Davis wanted a small intimate wedding with colorful decor (cause Davis is an artist who truly loves bright colors). All photos are taken by Ben Christensen who could catch all happy moments of this wedding. Now let’s consider all details.
First of all, I wanna pay your attention to the reception space. Guests dined underneath an awesome and very unique architecturally open structure that glowed with a canopy of string lights.
Tables were decorated by various cute table centerpieces. For example, you can see many little cactuses in simple brown pots. And of course vases with chic flowers such as roses, peonies and greenery. You can also find colorful glasses for every guest that were continuation of their wedding theme.
All paper goods from invitations to place cards were made by Josh Ariza. I have never seen so creative, unique and fun invitations at the same time, no doubt their guests were delighted to get them.
I think you’ll like what bride and groom picked up as wedding clothes. Davis chose her mom’s dress, it was non traditional yellow halter backless maxi dress. As shoes she wore leather ankle boots from Donald Pliner which perfectly matched to her gown. One friend of Davis created for her an adorable braided hairstyle and makeup artist Nova Kaplan completed bride’s look by bright but elegant makeup with bold pink lips. Chris wore suit with gray jacket and black trousers from Bonobos, denim shirt, so fabulous printed long tie and simple shoes from Aldo.
Bridesmaids’ dresses were colorful too. They picked up various gowns from Novella Royale depending on their wish, body shape and personal style. Now it’s time for inspiring and cool photos of this wedding day. Scroll down to see all of them!
