When wedding planning became too stressful and forced, Christina + Dustin knew that had to go back to the heart of it all- their love for each other and their love for travel. They were one month away from a big trip to Lofoten, Norway so they thought – why not throw out the “big wedding” idea, take off together, and have a winter elopement in an exciting and beautiful place. Get ready to dive into their elopement!
They didn’t have a particular location in mind, but one of the reasons they had chosen Norway for their trip was because they were both really keen to see the northern lights. Can you imagine how romantic it would be to travel there with the love of your life?! After a small amount of deliberating, they chose the epic Lofoten Islands for their romantic winter elopement. C + D had the most adorable surprise wedding guests there to wish them well! They had planned a couple of locations to visit. Their first stop was in a little village, where they met with a wonderful lady who hiked with them and her adorable goats. After that, we headed back a little further north to explore some of the fishing villages (an iconic part of the Lofoten scenery).
The bride was wearing a romantic lace wedding dress, tassel earrings, hiking boots, and the groom was wearing a tweed suit, a coat and a tie. They both covered up with puff coats to feel comfy while walking.
At a moment where it felt right, Christina and Dustin picked a beautiful spot to say their vows to one another. Braving the cold Atlantic wind, they read their hand-written vows to each other and took off their gloves just long enough to exchange rings. Christina and Dustin topped off their winter elopement with fresh Lofoten fish and a couple bottles of local beer!
