Mountains are fantastic, I totally love all that natural beauty in any season. Many couples agree with me choosing mountains as a destination for their wedding. This isn’t only a gorgeous location, these are amazing photos guaranteed! If you feel like tying the knot there, there are some tips you need to consider to make your wedding a pleasure for everybody. Here they are, take a look.
Consider The Altitude
Although you and your honey may have no problem hiking above timberline or taking a chairlift – consider your guests. Will grandma need a ride, who can walk? Make sure to have a transportation plan in place for all guests, even consider having a shuttle. Be sure to also provide clear directions on where to go with helpful signs, no one wants to be lost in the mountains. Consider having oxygen available for older guests. Pack an emergency kit considering the mountainous place, ask the planner to help you with it.
Consider The Weather
Work with your wedding planner to create a weather plan and establish exactly how it will be communicated to your wedding party, vendors and guests. Winter means colder temperatures but always comes with a beautiful snowy backdrop, creating a winter wedding wonderland. Spring means beautiful flowers, budding trees and flowing rivers from mountain run-off. Spring weather can also be unpredictable, so be prepared for everything. Summer brings with it colorful wildflowers and warmer temps in the mountains. Fall is one of the more beautiful times of with vibrant fall foliage to help paint a colorful backdrop. Whatever season you prefer, provide your guests with cozy coverups and blankets as favors, it gets chilly even in summer when the sun goes down.
Make A Trip
Even if you’ve been there before, and it’s your family’s vacation spot plan to make a trip to the destination to tour a few locals and look at the region through the lens of your wedding. Do you like the local vendors, will you go for them or prefer some importing?
Use Organic Elements
Mountain weddings are mostly decorated in rustic and natural way to embrace the aesthetics around. Use various organic elements to decorate: fresh foliage, wildflowers and herbs, antlers and rocks. Go for uncovered wooden tables and lace or ethereal table runners. Add candles to cozy up the space, and you are sure to have a cool ambience.
Consider Your Outfit
If you are planning to get married outside consider what the ground will do to your train. If you are getting married on grass, consider wearing wedges or boots, the same goes to bridesmaids. If it’s a cold season, think of a nice and cozy coverup to rock. Though even in summer when the sun goes down, it gets chilly.
