Getting ready for fall nuptials? Today’s wedding inspiration is gonna help you in that! This is a traditional style wedding in bold and jewel shades, classics for the fall.
Alex and Doug wanted an organic meets traditional style wedding in Washington, DC. Strawberry Milk Events helped guide the planning and design as this couple worked towards a moody, autumnal fête without of shade of white in sight, save for the bridal dress.
The vendors brought an intimate, garden party feel to the St. Regis, DC. The ceremony took place in a clear tent on the Astor Terrace with a gorgeous boxwood and jewel toned ombre flower wall. Antique chandeliers hung down the center of the tent lining the aisle.
Their four legged child, Buffy the Mastiff, was incorporated on their invitations and themed wedding welcome bags – and made a cameo appearance at the wedding itself!
They went inside for cocktails and dinner, and then dancing took place back out in the tent which had been transformed into a fun lounge including vintage velvet upholstered furniture and antique candelabras and tables all in golds and jewel tones. A mirrored and gold bar was a focal point, as well as a classic black and white dance floor. They got double use out of that boxwood ombre floral wall, now serving as the band backdrop.
Dinner featured a long kings table lined with tons of candles, and crystal candelabras were accented with a touch of green. Linens were a champagne “acorn contour” linen that was remnant of wood grain. Centerpieces were flowy and lush yet unstructured in rich jewel tones.
This is a great example of how to rock rich fall shades on your big day with style, enjoy the pics and get inspired!
