This monochromatic bridal shoot from Petite Pearl Events and Avant Garde Cake Studio with Rock Salt Photography behind the lens just stuns at once! This moody, romantic editorial took place at The Giraffe Shed, a unique barn in the Welsh countryside.
The cornerstone for this shoot was the amazing model, a bone cancer survivor who rocks her prosthetic leg, showing the world a strong, glamorous example of a diverse bride. Since celebrating the model was one of the most important aspects of the shoot concept, her outfit should have been bold and sexy but also romantic and feminine and it all began with the creation of a one-of-a-kind sheer gown—the rest of the concept grew up around that and all came together to support that key element. Marie Chandler Bridal dreamt up the bespoke dress and veil just for the bride decorating them with floral embellishments.
The cake designer created three stunning hand-painted tiered cakes incorporating acrylic lifts (both in the cakes and as display risers!) and then flooded the table with a gorgeous selection of mini treats. Dried foliage was used to adorn the cakes and add some fun texture along with arrangements of fresh and dried florals to finish off the dessert table and tie it all together. All of this took place at a unique barn conversion in the Welsh countryside where couples can mix the idyllic natural setting with a more modern and industrial setting. The space was absolutely perfect for our modern and edgy take on boho romance!
There was literally pink everywhere (in the gown, makeup, outfit, custom drape installation, flowers, stationery and even place settings) but by using a wide range of tones and shades the color created a subtle and modern palette rather than being overwhelming.
