This spectacular Moroccan wedding was full of personal details, fun and perfect styling.
Charlie and AJ’s Moroccan wedding at Villa Taj Marrakech was essentially a masterclass in maximalism! There were vases of every shape and size, Moroccan rugs covering the ground, fairy lights galore, embroidery hoops and macrame in every nook, and dried flowers mixed with pampas grass filling all the empty space. This talented bride and her dream team of vendors made all our Moroccan wedding dreams come true, balancing the subtle art of over-the-top decor while still feeling classy and curated – let’s take a look!
There were lots of little touches to personalize the ceremony, from DIY decorations, their friend Leo marrying them, and their personal vows. The couple’s friends were also in charge of the music and we had home-made fans featuring the day’s program. The couple decided on everyone having a traditional Moroccan fez hat on their plate which was fun, great for photos but also a little keep safe for everyone. Adhering to Moroccan tradition under each hat was a small personalized bottle of rose water for guests to wash their hands before eating.
The bride made embroidery hoops and trailing ribbon hoops in the lead up to the wedding, as well as a macrame for the aisle and spent months collecting dry flowers in Australia to bring for her wonderful florist. The couple also decided to print a vintage polaroid of every guest for our seating plan which placed on two Moroccan doors with a sign “find your face to find your place.” They carefully selected ridiculously funny photos to help break the ice for guests who hadn’t met before.
She was rocking a boho lace sheath wedding dress with a V-neckline, bell sleeves and a train plus a floral crown.
The wedding ceremony space was styled with lots of boho rugs, pampas grass, woven chairs and lamps and tambourines.
The reception space was done with Fez hats, lush dried flower and pampas grass centerpieces, lots of candles and lamps.
The bride tried a second look with a fashionable polka dot dress with long sleeves, an illusion neckline and a sheer skirt.
