Today’s wedding editorial by Jessica of Kismet & Clover and Christy Swanberg Photography shows the ideal balance between romantic and masculine, for all you couples set on incorporating both.
When it comes to design that checks all the boxes in terms of a modern, romantic wedding you have to be really intentional about making sure everything comes off as welcoming and authentic, and genuinely represents the couple. Designer Jessica of Kismet & Clover and a team of industry creatives, set out to produce a same-sex wedding editorial to inspire anyone with a modern, industrial venue as their muse.
The inspiration from the shoot came from wanting to highlight that a wedding can be both masculine and modern, without omitting the pretty details like dainty floral arrangements, ribbon, stationery design, and textures like fur (and wicker!). The color palette was a combination of dark blues and grey, with hints of gold.
The grooms were wearing navy suits, white shirts and brown shoes, one of them rocked a thin tie, the second wasn’t, and they rocked cute boutonnieres.
You’ll notice a geometric and masculine watercolor cake, some ethically sourced floral details, and some hand-crafted candle holders out of pipe fittings complete with dip-dyed candlesticks. The venue, The Nash in Calgary, is its own little moody gem, with charming interior design and local city flare. Dear couples looking for modern and authentic wedding decor, get inspired!
