Floral designer Erin Matkowski and photographer Theresa Matherne teamed up to create this jewel tone, glam rock star wedding whilst visiting New Orleans for the Inspire Design Workshop. The color palette is deep but still vivid and combines lots of jewel tones to create a vision that is elegant yet edgy.
They draw all the inspiration from the couples they work with so doing photoshoots is always really interesting. So, for this shoot the stylists first described the bride and then went from there, picturing this concert going girl who was going to wear a leather jacket and drink red wine instead of champagne at her wedding. It became this rock star glamour look with a gemstone color palette.
A lot of the tabletop details were made in the stylist’s studio at J&M Home and Garden in Madison, NJ prior to the shoot. She created the gemstone napkin rings, geode place markers, mirrored table number, and invitation suite and menu card herself. With all of these little details my focus was on pulling in as much of the jewel toned color scheme and sparkle. Erin wanted the pieces to have this lovely wild luxury quality to them, so she mixed more formal flowers like lush black pearl roses, ranunculus and lisianthus with wildflowers like scabiosa, bunny tailgrass and thistle. For the furniture, the lovely iconic red loveseat was a fantastic find in the waiting area at Revelry. The other items including the lucite chiavari chairs, black velvet table linen, navy napkins, flatware, dishes and glassware were all from Explore Events.
Of course the piece that pulled the whole look together was the amazing gown from Pedram Couture, it was absolutely the perfect rock star dress the grey color, fully sequined bodice and perfect textured tulle skirt paired beautifully with the vintage leather jacket.
