Today we are sharing mystery and magic wedding shoot deep in the woods! Becca at Rivkah Photography teamed up with the planners and designers at Blushing Ivy to run wild with that magical theme, creating a visionary day straight out of a fairy tale.
Tucked away in the rainforest of Sooke, British Columbia lies Cedar Haven Weddings, a venue lush with fern, cedar, and all of the green offerings of the West Coast. This sanctuary, as its name proclaims, is truly a haven that acted as the perfect setting for our modern day fairy tale elopement. Lead by newcomers to the wedding industry, Blushing Ivy and Ingrid Rose Floral Artistry, the color palette and vision for this magical day was ultimately determined by the changing seasons.
As winter became spring and cherry blossoms began to bloom, the stylists chose soft mauves, blush pinks, and ivories, complimented by a pop of pink – an ode to the start of spring and the colors to come. Of course, no fairy tale is complete without a muse. The muse here was Belle, a strong female lead who challenged the social ideologies of her time and made us all want to head to the bookshop, tuck into a comfy chair, and read of far away adventures.
The bride wore a Maggie Sottero gown from Blush Bridal Boutique, with royal hair and makeup by Prive Beauty Lounge. Didn’t she portray Belle the best way possible? Studio 745‘s brilliant calligraphy brought the story to life. Ingrid Rose Floral Artistry is the true genius behind that cherry blossom backdrop and all the gorgeous floral details.
The bride was wearing a V-neckline lace bodice wedding dress with a layered tulle and lace applique skirt by Maggie Sottero.
I totally love the cherry blossom wedding arch that immediately make the shoot look spring-like.
The wedding tablescape was don with silver dishes, copper flatware, pink glasses and mercury glass candle holders, and the florals looked rather wild-style.
Pretty little vintage details added a refined feel to the shoot and contrasted with mossy trees.
The wedding cake was a semi-naked one, with pink glazing, topped with orange blooms and macarons.
Notice the gorgeous vintage table with books and a single bloom in a glass cloch, such cool details add to the look.
