The theme of this bright wedding shoot was inspired by the movie ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ in the tropical setting of Bali. With more and more couples struggling between wanting to be unique and modern but wanting to also keep certain traditions, the stylists wanted to use this inspiration to show couples how to do that with small details.
There was an abundance of eye-catching vibrant colors such as fuchsia, rich reds and touches of gold. Set in the center of the art and performance district of Culver City, One Culver provides a dramatic entry with modern grand stair case, lushly landscaped outdoor area and huge floor to ceiling windows for all that natural light. The Rentals were both modern and bold rich pieces that were able to provide the minimalistic pillar for the cake as well as the decadent gold chargers, gold rimmed plates, silverware and bamboo-esqe chairs to tie in the tropical feel. The stylists kept the traditional bouquet but paired it with a modern and minimalistic altar. The florist used a mixture of florals both in season as well as unique. She was also very intentional about certain florals like the Spirea Blossoms and the Gloriosas (Fire Lilies), which are both native to Asia.
The wedding dress by Naama & Anat had such intricate beaded detail and had that sense of royalty about it, whilst the detachable train was that bit ‘extra’, that would make any bride feel like this was рук day to radiate all the beauty! These are all ways to keep those traditional aspects while also having a modern feel.
