The wedding that we are going to tell you about today is unconventional in almost every decision. Delyth and Elidir’s vegan, DIY, dog-friendly, plastic-free wedding at Tŷ Coch in Wales really was a team effort, and we can only imagine how proud the couple are of the results! Let’s take a look at it!
Rich, autumnal colors and orange velvet ribbon were a strong visual theme on Delyth and Elidir’s big day. They set out to have a wedding that was as relaxed, informal, personal and waste-free as possible. The most important thing to them was that the wedding seemed natural. There was no pretense, and it was all very them, from the piles of old books at the end of each table, to the 1900s piano roll table runners, and the well-stocked, free bar full of the couple’s favorite drinks.
This was a serious animal-friendly and environmentally-conscious day! Everything from the street food feast at the reception to the beauty products Delyth wore on the day, were vegan. All of the catering supplies provided for guests at the wedding were either reusable or compostable – the couple didn’t use a single plastic item during the whole wedding. all of the decorations were borrowed or reusable items. Not only did this make the tipi look so much more personal, but it also meant there was no waste at the end of the day. Instead of using live flowers to decorate, the couple bought dried hops and flowers in warm autumnal and neutral shades – these are now strewn throughout the house in Cardiff and serve as a fond reminder of the day.
