This couple went for an all-DIY wedding at a brewery, they chose pink as their main color.
Vicki and Sam met in 2007 and thirteen years later they’re now happily married! The couple’s theme revolved around a portrait drawing a friend had gifted them. They edit it and used it pretty much anywhere they could without going overboard. They married at Wylam Brewery in Newcastle Upon Tyne with a reception at the same venue.
As accessories designer at Barbour, attention to detail was extremely important to Vicki, and she designed everything from stationery to signage and table decor. She didn’t find DIY or planning very stressful; once they booked the venue, they swiftly booked their favorite suppliers well in advance, so they didn’t have to worry about any of them being unavailable on the date. Planning everything was actually really fun and we made sure the couple’s personalities were in every aspect.”
Their guests were also their priority throughout the planning; the guys wanted them to relax, eat, drink, mosh and feel like an important part of the day. Vicki made personalized, acrylic nameplates for everyone including a polaroid photo of each of them, and put together activity packs for their younger guests, even designing a bespoke coloring book for them. They ended up finishing their night at a club in Newcastle after the reception; with Vicki still in her flower crown and dress!
The couple's portrait was the inspiration for the wedding and it was used throughout the venue for decor.
The bride was wearing a lace applique A-line wedding dress with an illusion neckline and bell sleeves.
The wedding bouquet was done with pink blooms, a king protea and greenery and colorful ribbons.
The wedding portrait was placed on the seating chart, too, and it was decorated with ombre balloons.
