If you are a sucker for rustic barn weddings, you’ll love this one! This is a summertime barn wedding, with a Swedish bride and a Welsh groom with much ethos behind their day.
The countryside at Gammelgården set the tone for their day. The couple tell us about the vibe they aimed for with their summer barn bash: it was relaxed and very Swedish. They were out in the countryside and wanted to give our British guests a real taste of Sweden.
Anything they could make or do themselves, they did – right down to the wedding dress – and they made it their mission to unify their guests and make everyone feel at home in Sweden. Families and friends also helped crafting a lot, which created ethos. The bride made the groom’s trousers and waistcoat, while a tailor college of hers made his jacket. With lots of help from their friends, the couple didn’t need to rely too much on external suppliers, the couple’s friends (and the groom) played the music, the maid of honour did the hair, Ellen did her own makeup and hand-picked the flowers, and the bride’s sister designed the stationery. Talk about a talented bunch!
The bride was wearing a bridal separate of a lace embellished top and a plain skirt. Her bridesmaids chose their own dresses, the mix of pastel hues is lovely. The groom was wearing a three-piece grey suit with a forest green tie and amber shoes. Get inspired by the pics of the shoot below!
