Summer is perfect for tying the knot: the weather is mostly warm or even hot, rains aren’t that often, and it means that you’ll be able to do that outside, enjoy sunlight and fresh air and other advantages of summer. But there’s one thing that can spoil that all: summer heat. Summer heat means everyone overheating, sweating, feeling uncomfortable and so on. We’ve already shared some ideas to beat the heat but today I’d like to focus on grooms and groomsmen cause these guys often have to wear more clothes than girls.
Colors And Fabrics
Go for light colors because they reflect the sunlight and you won’t overheat. There are tons of ideas and combos to choose from: light blue and greens, white and ivory, beige and light grey and much more, everything here is up to you and your taste. As for fabrics, choose only natural ones, the more natural they are, the better because they will let your skin breathe. Forget heavy fabrics and focus on lighter ones, especially if you are going to wear a jacket.
No Jacket And No Tie
The fewer layers you wear, the better you feel on a hot day, we all know it. How to apply that to your groom’s look? first of all, forget of three-piece suits, and second, if possible, opt for no jacket look, only a formal wedding requires a jacket and all the rest themes and styles can allow wearing no jacket. It doesn’t mean you’ll look not stylish: you can wear suspenders or a vest. Ties and bow ties will make you keep your shirt buttoned up, which can also cause overheating, so we strongly recommend to skip one if possible or take it off after the ceremony.
Going Short
If it’s appropriate, go for shirts with shorter sleeves or at least roll up the sleeves to avoid overheating. If you feel like it, go for shorts instead of pants, too, and it will be a bold and cool idea to stand out and not to feel hot.
No Socks And Right Shoes/Barefoot
Don’t wear socks if it’s hot, some types of shoes allow that without looking tasteless. Moccasins, sandals of various kinds and some other types of shoes will let you feel comfy and look dapper at the same time. One more idea is going barefoot but it’s suitable not for every location.
