If you want something special for your wedding table, here’s an inspiring idea with a vintage touch – a decoupage apple place name. You’ll need PVA glue, a brush, plastic apples, plain white paper, printed lyrics or old book pages. Tear up white paper into short strips, paint the surface of the apple with PVA glue. Layer the strips, adding more glue over the top until the whole apple is covered. Tear up your lyrics or old book pages, tearing some of the words that you want to highlight. Layer the strips with glue as before, overlapping and going in different directions. Then position your key words or phrases over the top. You may add a thin black satin ribbon in a bow round the stalk, cut out an apple leaf from some textured card and write a guest name on it. You’re done!
