Everyone wants everything unique for the wedding: a unique dress, cake or decorations. And of course unique wedding photos and videos! So if you wanna an awesome and unforgettable wedding day, take smoke bombs. Smoke bombs are very popular for weddings and any other kinds of celebrations as they make great photos. An engagement photo shoot, a fun getaway, an unforgettable exit, a bold wedding portrait – all of these things can be easily achieved with smoke bombs. Wanna use them, too? Then you’ll need to know a couple of things to make using them safe and your pics jaw-dropping.
Safety
Smoke bombs are actually bombs, so you should be careful using them. Be aware of high winds and inhaling the smoke. You should also consider crowds and highly flammable areas. Bring a metal bucket to drop used smoke bombs and a bottle of water to make sure they’re fully extinguished. You should be in an open area outdoors and avoid any areas that are overly dry and susceptible to catching fire.
Smoke bombs can stain and the sparks can also burn if you aren’t careful. Set them off in the distance and get some help from a vendor or friend. After setting the smoke bomb down, if you are 2-3 feet away and just standing in the smoke cloud, it should not stain your clothing or anything else. If you plan to use smoke bombs on your wedding day, we recommend doing a test run prior to the wedding day just to make sure the ones you bought don’t stain your clothes and work alright.

Time Of Using
The longest smoke bombs last about 90 seconds! And once you pull the trigger, it takes up to 10 seconds to fully release, so be photo-ready when using them. Smoke bombs come in many bright colors, test them out to choose the best ones for creating an ethereal and colorful backdrop. There are also neutral smoke bombs that give an airy backdrop without any color – this is a great idea not to distract attention from you two or add ethereal elegance to the pic without going for bright colors. You can use them at night, too, in case you have some good backlighting to capture the mood.

Working With Your Photographer
Ask if your photographer has worked with smoke bombs before. There are a few tricks of the trade and ideas they may have to capture that perfect shot. You can even do a few practice rounds before lighting the plumes! Smoke bombs are perfect for highlighting your couple and making you two stand out a lot in the space, to separate you from the rest of the space and people (make the smoke cover you two all around), to add color to the photo, especially if the backdrop is simple or too pale, and even have fun making smoke Jack-o-lanterns or other stuff that matches the wedding style. Smoke bobs plus sunshine create an ethereal look in the photo, and colorful smoke bombs can highlight your wedding attire color or your surroundings, for example, you may use purple smoke over a lavender field. Of course, you may use smoke bombs not only for wedidng portraits but also for photos with your gals, parents and just a bridal boudoir shoot before the wedding.
