Chalets and mountain lodges are dreamy venues to tie the knot for outdoorsy couples – you stay connected to the nature all the time. I also adore the beautiful sceneries around, the possibility of having both forest and mountain views for the portraits and just have some fun like snowboarding if it’s winter. With all these and many other advantages having a chalet wedding seems a fab idea, let me share some ideas to get you convinced!
Chalet Wedding Attire
Let’s start from the wedding attire. Of course, you may wear anything you like but my faves are looks with some touches to embrace the location – hiking boots, scarves, beanies, faux fur and knit cover ups, shearling coats and so on. I’d also consider some colorful attire if you are getting married in winter – a bride will look amazing in a red wedding dress in the snow, and a groom will look fantastic in a burgundy blazer and amber boots.

What I love so much about chalet weddings is coziness as styling your venue you usually go for woodland and rustic decor. Lots of stained wood, a stone fireplace, uncovered tables, wood slices, pinecones and of course evergreens and berries for a winter wedding – this is perfection! Warm up your space with lots of various candles and candle lanterns, rock textural greenery runners, cozy up the chairs with blankets, add antlers and moss, think of beautiful textural floral arrangements (maybe of wildflowers) if your wedding is in summer or fall. Tree stumps and oversized textural greenery and wildflower chandeliers will be a nice addition to keep the style up, and a stone fireplace can become your perfect wedding altar.
