This colorful and quirky Lake Como elopement shoot was all about blending classic and local Italian style with modern on-trend elements. What did that mean for planners Wed House and the amazing vendor team that took on the majesty of Villa Balbiano? It meant romantic fairy tale vibes made bold with a dramatic pink feather wedding dress. Historic architecture blended with sleek, modern seating and American-inspired dried palm installations. The team enhanced local handmade decor pieces with an eclectic color palette and classical textures like gilded frames, soft fringe and luxe velvet.

The interior of Villa Balbiano was an inspiration to all the elements that inspired the stylists. All the paintings, the vintage furniture, each piece was a masterpiece and to follow the grand plan of the Villa. The most amazing part of designing this elopement is to combine local elements to what is in trend now and let the creativity fly away. Eloping is such a beautiful way to get married so let’s celebrate it by being a bit also crazy and follow your own rules. If there was ever a dress to wear for an elopement in a historic Italian villa, this is it! Irina is wearing a pink gown where the skirt is entirely covered by layers and layers of feathers.

Lada Fiori looked to current US wedding trends for inspiration and created this giant dried palm arch! This modern and bohemian ceremony decor perfectly frames the beauty of the Lake Como background. Elena Atabaeva Flowers & Decor brought in the Old World tropical vibes for the reception florals while Oltreil Giardino created a luxurious atmosphere with rich textiles and over-the-top rentals. The table followed the entire mood of the ceremony: tropical elements starting from small pineapples combined with the colorful handmade dishes from Laboratorio Parravicini was a perfect match.
