This NYE wedding wasn’t a traditional glam and glitzy one, it was dark and sparkly which was right at home at The View Victoria on Vancouver Island.
Lynda customized the ceremony backdrop with a unique mix of flowers featuring everything from classic and garden roses to protea and eucalyptus to west coast classics like hellebores and privet berries. And of course, everyone’s fave, pampas grass. The semi-circle framed the couple and hid confetti canons too.
With the wedding being held in winter and on New Year’s Eve, they decided to bring in some rich textures in things like Steve’s custom velvet tux jacket, all the warm colorful and moody flowers, the textured decor, and they also had a lot of sparkle and tons of confetti! The bride was wearing a black lace embellished wedding dress and a black faux fur coverup. The groom was wearing a classic black tux and chic brogues. The wedding was an intimate cocktail style celebration which gave them a lot of time to mingle with family and friends—this was the most important thing to them.
The best part was that they were able to set up a few surprise spaces too throughout the mansion, like a prohibition bar complete with polaroids & love notes, an epic photo booth room and a big space for their rocking band. The decor planner and friends surprised the couple with a huge balloon installation for the New Year’s countdown and unique guest signing area that was a balloon filled ceiling with polaroids of the engagement photos hanging on the streamers. All of the immediate family was able to stay together onsite for the weekend, it was such a great bonding experience and time well spent with their favourite people.
